The Karel Čapek Gymnázium offers its students the opportunity to participate in international cooperation.
For more than 25 years, we have actively participated in a wide range of projects under KA2 Multilateral Partnerships (Erasmus+ programme, formerly Comenius). Hundreds of students have collaborated with their foreign peers on project tasks, and dozens of students have attended international conferences at our partner schools (Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, and Turkey).
Our school has also regularly hosted students and teachers at both smaller and larger international meetings, and successfully acted as the coordinator school for a partnership of 8 educational institutions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we organized several online conferences, which partially replaced travel and face-to-face meetings.
In the new Erasmus+ programming period (2021–2027), less funding is allocated to large-scale KA2 Cooperation Partnerships, which is why we decided to take a new path. In 2023, we prepared the so-called "GKČD Erasmus Plan" and applied for accreditation under the KA1 Learning Mobility of Individualsprogramme.
Along with 30 other Czech schools, we were awarded the accreditation (2023 call). The assessment of individual applications focused strictly on a strategic approach and organizational quality development. As an "accredited school," we gained simplified access to individual mobility applications and funding stability. The accreditation is valid until 2027.

In February 2024, we submitted our first grant application covering a 15-month period. Based on this, we received funding for approximately 30 short-term student mobilities and 2 job-shadowing visits for our teachers.
-
In February 2025, we submitted a subsequent grant application for another 15-month period, securing funding for an additional 30 short-term student mobilities and 1 to 2 job-shadowing visits for teaching staff.
-
In February 2026, we submitted another grant application covering the next 15-month period, which will again fund short-term student mobilities as well as international job-shadowing placements for teaching staff.
When planning these trips, we rely both on our excellent, long-standing contacts with partner schools and on newly established collaborations.
